Dear students,

The following are application guidelines for preliminary/thesis defense.

Please make sure to check the attached file(MANUAL & FORM) as well.

1) Application : Oct. 21st. 2024 ~ Oct. 28th. 2024 12:00

☞ On the last day(Oct. 28th) of application, please submit your documents by noon, as it takes a long time to check your documents.

☞ If your documents are fully prepared, please submit as soon as possible.

2) How to apply : ① Submit to N Center #86420

                              ② Convert your documents into ‘PDF’ file and submit it by e-mail ( number59@skku.edu )

3) Defense fee : ~ Nov. 15th

☞ You can check your virtual account at your ‘GLS > 신청/자격관리 > 학위논문신청 > 가상계좌조회/접수증출력’

4) Qualification & Committee Member : ☞ Preliminary defense and thesis defense cannot be held in one semester.

 ☞ It is advised to send your thesis/dissertation and presentation material to all defense committee members 2 weeks before thesis defense.

      (In case of preliminary defense, just presentation material.)

☞ In case of co-advisor:

- Write DOES advisor as first major advisor.

- Number of defense committee members for preliminary defense is 4, Master's thesis defense is 4 and PhD & Combined thesis defense is 6.

5) What to submit : See below

☞ Signature : Seal, Signature, Electronic Signature

☞ If you have only one advisor, please delete the second ‘Major advisor’.

☞ [No.0] External committee personal information : Submit only if there are external committee members

※ External examiners’ evidential document: Screenshot of the external examiner on his/her employment website OR Certificate of Employment OR CV (Choose 1 and submit it with your application)

You must also submit “evidential documents” of the papers and conference.

☞ “Evidential documents” consists of:

2. International conference documents

※ It is NOT necessary to submit all of your papers and conference during your entire academic year. Submit only the ones mentioned in [Qualification] in “Certificate of Journal & Conference”.

※ SUBMIT ONLY THE PAPERS THAT YOUR ARE THE FIRST OR CO-FIRST AUTHOR. DO NOT SUBMIT THE ONES THAT YOU ARE THE CO-AUTHOR.

6) Defense evaluation report submission : ~ Dec. 20th.2024

7) Deadline only for Thesis Defense (NOT PRELIMINARY DEFENSE)

Thesis submission Online : ~ Jan. 9th.2025

Offline : ~ Jan. 17th.2025
