To all graduates in DOES, 

The Department of Energy Science begins the undergraduate program this March. 

So, we have about 40 freshmen undergraduates. The undergraduate program is Department of Energy (DOE). 

Initially naming as the Department of Energy is a plan to diversify the spectrum of energy studies, including the energy policy, smart grid or 

energy network, AI-energy, and so on. Since we, DOES, initiate the program, we are fully responsible for the Department of Energy. 

However, one inconvenience arose is a mismatch in the name between the two programs, graduate and undergraduate. 

So, we are asked by the University to change the name of the Department of Energy Science to the Department of Energy(에너지학과). 

This change aims to create consistency between the two programs. 

Our new department, the Department of Energy, will keep all the heritage from DOES. 

The graduate program of DOE starts on Sept 1st, 2024. If you graduate after that, in your diploma, you will be affiliated with DOE rather than DOES.

This is the only difference you can notice. As in the past, you can also choose a Ph. D. in science or engineering for your degree.

For a smooth transition, your agreement is very necessaty.
